Electric Scooters in Thailand

Without my electric Porsche to get me around here in Thailand, after an extensive search, I bought an electric scooter from a company in Bangkok called Toyotron.  It has a lot of promise, but the build quality and customer service is pretty bad.  I’ve made many, many YouTube videos of my efforts to fix all of the problems, upgrade the components and add computers inside which talk to an Android tablet app that I wrote that mounts onto the dashboard.

After living with the Toyotron for about 8 years, I bought a Niu electric scooter and it’s like night and day – absolutely top-level quality. It costs about twice as much as an equivalent 125cc Honda gas scooter but it will go 100km on a charge for 12 CENTS worth of electricity. I charge it from a power plug near the motorbike parking area of my condo and prepay the office for 20 charges at a time.
